The first reflection

The novel I choose to read is "The Jade Peony" by Wayson Choy. I chose to read this book because it tells a story about a chinese immigrant family's story in Chinatown, vancouver in the 30s and 40s. I want to learn how where the immigrants treated differently then today and how where their life's at the time. My inquiry questions would be about how where immigrants treated different and unfairly at the time.

  2. I read part of this book, probably one chapter of it, from Inside Stories textbook last year. I remember it was mainly about the jade peony and Chinese spirit and culture melted in it. I did not get to read the whole book, so I'm expecting to know more about the story from your reflections. Haha.
